Frequently Asked Questions

What time is church and how do I get there?

Church starts at 10am and is about an hour long.  [Click Here For a Map - How To Find Us]

Do I have to be religious to come to Word of Grace?

No.  In fact we prefer people who are not religious.  Religion tends to be based on rules, and rules kill our spirit.  God is about relationships, not rules, and so are we.  In fact, when Jesus was talking to the up-tight, religious people of his day, he said that the letter of the law kills but the Spirit gives life.

What can I expect if I attend worship at Word of Grace?

First, you can expect to find a place filled with normal people, like you.

Second, you can expect to be welcome, but not harassed or pointed out.  You won't be made to wear a name tag, or stand up and introduce yourself.  You can come and be as anonymous, or as active, as you like.

Third, you will find up-tempo contemporary worship music, and preaching that is intellegent and makes sense.  But most of all you will find a place filled with joy, and church that is actually fun!

Where will I sit?

You can sit anywhere you like.
The auditorium is set up with comfortable theater seating like you would find at the local movie theater.  You can sit on the sides, the top, the front, or the middle. Wherever you feel comrfortable.

What kind of clothes do I wear?

You wear whatever you are comfortable in.  Most people dress casual.  Some dress up a little more.  Pastor Eric usually wears jeans and a dress casual or Hawaiian style print shirt.

How long is the worship service?

About 1 hr.

I've got kids, really active kids who don't always sit still, are they welcome at worship?

Yes kids are welcome, especially really active kids who don't always sit still!  Kids are welcome to join us for worship, then after the first half of the worship service all the kids are invited to attend Children's Church in an adjacent building where they sing songs, hear stories, and do crafts.  At the end of worship the kids come back to join their families.  Of course, if you want your kids to stay with you the whole time during worship, that's perfectly o.k. too!

Where do I park?

You park in the parking lot of Lawrence Jones Middle School.  Follow the arrow signs to the school auditorium, which is where our worship service is held.

What time is your worship service?

Sunday mornings, 10am.  Worship is casual and usually lasts about an hour.

Where are you located? [Click Here For Map]

Word of Grace meets at Lawrence Jones Middle School.  5154 Snyder Ln. Rohnert Park, CA. 94928

Why do you worship at a middle school?

Because it's a great place, it's in-expensive, and it works really well for us.  We have decided that we want to be different from most churches, we want to invest in people and our community, not buildings.

What if I feel uncomfortable and want to leave?

That's cool.  You are free to come and go as you please.  No one will stop you, question you or try to persuade you to stay. Control is not our thing.

What else goes on at Word of Grace besides worship?

Worship is just one aspect of our faith life together. We also have life groups, which are small groups that meet twice a month as an opportunity for us to get to know each other better, study the Bible together, and reach out to our community together by serving people with God’s love, no strings attached.

Word of Grace does three things: 1. Worship.  2.  Life Groups.  3.  Outreach to our community by serving others with God’s love.
